MILAN (Thomson Financial) - A2A SpA said it has confirmed its intention to
exit the capital of Endesa Italia in return for the share of Endesa Italia
assets it is entitled to.
A2A currently owns 20 pct of Endesa Italia.
A press report today said A2A may ask 1 bln eur for the 20 pct stake,
instead of taking the assets.
Endesa SA was acquired by Enel SpA and Acciona SA last year.
As part of the deal E.ON AG was offered assets of Endesa Europa, which
includes Endesa Italia.
Talks are currently underway between Enel and E.ON over the price the German
utility must pay for the Endesa Europe assets.
