MILAN (Thomson Financial) - A2A SpA's supervisory board said it has
appointed current acting group chairman Giuliano Zuccoli as chairman of the
management board.
But this follows complaints by the mayor of Brescia at a shareholders'
meeting in February about a concentration of power in the hands of Zuccoli.
A2A, created on Jan 1 from the merger of the two utilities AEM and ASM
Brescia, is controlled by the city governments of Milan and Brescia who each own
27.456 pct.
Before the merger Zuccoli was chairman of AEM.
Zuccoli recently noted that A2A's long-awaited business plan could not be
presented until the company's management board has been appointed.
He said the road show for the plan could begin shortly after the management
board had been appointed.
Deputy chairman of the management board is former Brescia deputy mayor Luigi
Morgano.
