MILAN (Thomson Financial) - Banco Popolare has denied a report in the daily
MF saying its supervisory board chairman, Carlo Fratta Pasini, is considering
management changes at the bank.
"Banco Popolare and Pasini deny such report because it is totally false and
groundless," Banco Popolare said in a statement.
MF said in an unsourced report on Thursday that Pasini is sounding out the
availability of some top managers to take on operational roles at Banco
Popolare.
One manager approached for a possible position at the bank is Sandro
Salvati, former CEO of Toro Assicurazioni and Alleanza Assicurazioni SpA.,
according to the report.
MF said the position of Banco Popolare CEO Fabio Innocenzi is officially not
in question.
