(Adds EDF quotes on tacit agreement)
PARIS (Thomson Financial) - EDF and Delmi, a unit of A2A, have tacitly
agreed to renew for a further three years their shareholder pact that controls
Italian energy company Edison, an EDF spokeswoman told Agence France-Presse.
"Neither of the two parties which (...) had the possibility to reject this
pact six months before its expiration, wished to do so. The pact is as a
consequence renewed by tacit agreement until Sept 15, 2011," the spokeswoman
said.
EDF and Delmi jointly own Transalpina di Energia, which in turn has a 63.3
pct stake in Edison.
Last month, A2A said it had asked EDF to consider delaying the renegotiation
of their shareholder pact at Edison, because of disagreements between A2A
shareholders relating to management appointments.
