MILAN (Thomson Financial) - Edison SpA said its shareholders have confirmed
Giuliano Zuccoli as chairman and Umberto Quadrino as CEO of the energy company.
During the shareholders meeting, Zuccoli said Edison's gearing (debt-equity)
ratio of 0.33 was one of the best in the sector.
"Our financial position is perfect for any eventual overseas expansion
opportunities," Zuccoli said.
Zuccoli underlined the importance of Greece for Edison, calling it "a
country ideal for investing in power generation".
Zuccoli ruled out any recapitalisation of Edison and said a buy back at this
time would be inopportune.
Edison is jointly controlled by A2A SpA and France's EDF
