MILAN (Thomson Financial) - Assicurazioni Generali SpA said the chief
executive of its Alleanza Assicurazioni SpA unit, Ugo Ruffolo, has resigned.
Generali said Alleanza chairman Luigi Amato Molinari will assume the CEO's
responsibilities.
The statement follows reports that Ruffolo's resignation was on the agenda
of Alleanza's board meeting on Wednesday.
Press reports in recent months had said Ruffolo was not comfortable with the
control exercised over Alleanza by parent company Generali.
Generali owns 50.4 percent of Alleanza.
