MILAN (Thomson Financial) - Assicurazioni Generali SpA is not planning any
extraordinary operation regarding its Alleanza Assicurazioni SpA unit, a
Generali spokeswoman said.
"Generali has no operation on the agenda for Alleanza," the spokeswoman
said.
Alleanza shares jumped sharply earlier following a statement that group CEO
Ugo Ruffolo has resigned.
A broker said Alleanza shares had risen because Ruffolo was seen as standing
in the way of moves to restructure the company.
Generali owns 50.4 percent of Alleanza.
