(Updating with more comments on partnership, sale of real estate)
MILAN (Thomson Financial) - Banca Italease SpA has received several
expressions of interest and will evaluate defined partnership proposals in the
next few weeks or months, chairman Lino Benassi said on Friday at the leasing
and factoring company's AGM.
"The management, advisors, and pact shareholders are determined," he said.
"We count on bringing to the table defined and concrete proposals in the coming
weeks or at the latest in the next few months."
On the sidelines of the meeting, Benassi said it is too early to talk about
details of the possible partnership but said Italease is working "on several
fronts" and that in theory there could be more than one partner.
Asked about a possible sale of its real estate assets, he said there are
several investors interested and that it is likely the company will book
"significant" capital gains.
