MILAN (Thomson Financial) - Italy's antitrust authority said motorway
operators and recovery services have offered commitments to settle the
authority's investigation into competition in recovery services on Italy's
motorways.
Various Atlantia SpA units, state motorway agency Anas SpA, industry
association Aiscat, Assicurazioni Generali SpA unit Europ Assistance and ACI
Global SpA have offered commitments, it said.
The authority is publishing the commitments for third party observations
before taking its own decision by July 31, it said.
The motorway operators and Anas are offering to promote competition in
supply of motorway rescue services via the elimination of fees required as a
contribution to a radio rescue service, it said.
ACI Global and Europe Assistance have offered to stop sharing information on
the operation of rescue services with rivals, it said.
