MILAN (Thomson Financial) - Pirelli & C SpA chairman Marco Tronchetti
Provera reiterated the company's forecast for a full year operating result in
line with that of a year earlier.
Speaking at the company's shareholder meeting, he said such a result would
be particularly noteworthy given the higher trend in raw material prices and the
financial markets.
"We expect to close 2008 in line with 2007," he said.
Pirelli's tyre activities are sensitive to raw material prices, while its
real estate activities suffered from market issues in 2007.
Tronchetti reiterated the plan to wait some months before publishing its
next three-year business plan. Previously, he said September/October time.
