LISBON (Thomson Financial) - Grupo Soares da Costa, SGPS, SA's consortium,
has been shortlisted in the tender to build and operate the 776 million euros
Saint Petersburg overground metro system, Diario Economico reported, without
citing a source.
According to the newspaper, Soares da Costa CEO Pedro Goncalves said
recently that the company is seeking to share leadership of the consortium,
which also includes Skoda Transportation and Italian companies Astaldi and ATM,
with another Portuguese or international building group.
Soares da Costa has not, however, ruled out inviting a partner from another
sector into the consortium, such as Brisa - Auto Estradas de Portugal SA, which
was recently shortlisted for a 1.5 billion euro motorway tender in Russia, the
newspaper added.
Four other consortia have also been shortlisted in the tender, with the
winner set to be announced in early 2009.
