Nexus Energy Ltd. (NXS.AU) said Monday that it has appointed former Queensland Gas Co. Ltd. Managing Director Richard Cottee as its new chief executive.

Cottee will assume the role on May 3, at which time Michael Fowler will step down from his executive role and become the non-executive chairman, Nexus said in a statement.

Queensland Gas was acquired in 2008 by BG Group PLC. (BG.LN).
