Airbus SE said Tuesday that it withdrew its 2022
commercial-aircraft delivery target, citing a difficult market
environment, though it maintained its financial guidance for the
year.
The airplane maker said it delivered 68 commercial aircraft in
November, taking the total to 565 aircraft in the year to date,
prompting its target of around 700 for the year as a whole to now
be out of reach.
The company said the "complex environment will persist longer
than previously expected" and that it would cut the rate of ramp-up
for its A320 family of aircraft in 2023 and 2024.
However, Airbus reiterated its financial targets for 2022,
including adjusted earnings before interest and taxes of around 5.5
billion euros ($5.77 billion) and free cash flow before mergers and
acquisitions of around EUR4.5 billion.
