Alstom SA said Monday that it has won a contract to deliver an integrated railway system in the Philippines as part of a consortium, with the share of the contract attributable to the French company amounting to 1.1 billion euros ($1.17 billion).

The French train maker said the contract has been awarded by Mitsubishi Corp. and is for the extension of the North-South Commuter Railway project in the Philippines, which involves 27 new stations spanning 110 kilometers and is due for completion by 2029.

Alstom said it will deploy a rail-traffic management system among other responsibilities as part of the contract, and that Colas Rail will be responsible for the track work and overhead contact line system.

Alstom said it expects to book the contract in fiscal 2024.
