L'Oreal SA on Wednesday said that net profit and sales rose in the full year, recording a strong performance across geographies.

The French cosmetics and consumer-products company reported a net profit of 4.60 billion euros ($5.23 billion) in the period up from EUR3.56 billion the previous year.

Sales for the year were EUR32.29 billion, up 16.1% organically from EUR27.99 billion a year earlier. In the fourth quarter, sales were EUR9.09 billion.

"In a global context that remains volatile at the beginning of the year, we are confident in our ability to outperform the market in 2022 and achieve another year of growth in both sales and profits," Chief Executive Officer Nicolas Hieronimus said.

L'Oreal said it will propose a dividend of EUR4.80 a share at the next annual general meeting on April 21, a 20% increase compared to the dividend paid in 2021.
