TotalEnergies SE on Sunday said that it was willing to bring
forward annual wage negotiations with some of its employees in
France if strike action causing blockages at the oil company's fuel
storage depots ends.
The company proposed beginning negotiations this month rather
than in November. It would be the second time the company advances
the date of the negotiations this year, after previously agreeing
to conduct talks next month rather than in January.
"These negotiations will make it possible to define how
employees will benefit, before the end of the year, from the
exceptional results generated by TotalEnergies, while also taking
into account inflation for the year 2022," the company said in a
statement.
On Saturday, France's CGT union, which represents workers at the
company, said it was willing to return to the negotiating table
Monday.
Workers at the French company have been striking since late last
month, calling for increases to wages to reflect inflation and the
oil company's results so far this year.
