UK Markets Expected to Remain Volatile After Questionable Fiscal Policy

1002 GMT - The U.K. is in a tight spot with borrowing costs increasing and markets questioning the credibility of government policy, J.P.Morgan Asset Management says in a note. "The current situation in the UK also implies the market's reluctance to fund fiscally unviable fiscal policies," it says. The repricing across rates markets and, as a consequence, the rise in debt funding costs "may force governments to balance their books," JPMorgan AM says. Given these dynamics, volatility is expected to remain elevated for the foreseeable future, it says. (emese.bartha@wsj.com)
