FTSE 100 Rises as GSK Rallies After Favorable Court Ruling

0914 GMT - The FTSE 100 rises 0.1% to 7530 points, led by pharmaceutical giant GSK after a U.S. judge dismissed thousands of lawsuits claiming that heartburn drug Zantac can cause cancer. GSK shares jump 10.7%. Haleon, the consumer healthcare company that demerged from GSK earlier this year, rises 5.3%. Meanwhile, housebuilder shares fall after data from Halifax showed U.K. house prices fell 2.3% in November, the largest monthly drop since the beginning of the financial crash in 2008. Energy and mining stocks are also lower as oil and copper prices decline. (renae.dyer@wsj.com)
