Impressive close and impressive past couple of days.

NLOK’s operating margin was positive on the trailing 12 months basis, remaining steady at 13.20%, while the operating expenses over the recent quarter were at $453.0 million. This represented a 26.7% of the company’s total revenues which amounted $618.0 million. With this in place, we can see that the company’s diluted EPS inclined $0.55 on the year-over-year period, shrinking to -$0.03 as given in the last earnings report.

In terms of the balance sheet & cash flow as of (Mar 2020), the total assets figure advanced to $18.55 billion from $16.23 billion over the previous quarter. Short term investments amounted to $119.0 million while total current assets were at $13.57 billion. The cash flow from operating activities totaled $905.0 million, significantly lower than the $948.0 million reported in the year-ago quarter. The company’s free cash flow for the quarter was $819.0 million.

The way to play special divs like NLOK is to buy when the sp drops by the divy amount then ride the sp back up. NLOK dropped by $11.00 and change basing at $16.64, now a couple of weeks later its already up to $20.00 with $28.00+ in sight.

After hours was beautiful - tomorrow we'll see if those buying overpower those taking profits... profit taking would be expected, but so would a large % of dividend recipients (as well as wall flowers avoiding the "risk" of holding into earnings) waiting for this ER before entry. Remember some speculation about a big selloff after the "dip", and some rather foolish weak hands posted ALL CAPS HYSTERICAL MESSAGES ABOUT LOSING SO MUCH !!! WHY IS IT DOWN!!! SELL SELL!!!... fortunately the institutional buyers were buying block after block of 1000+ shares and it was a nice run into earnings... was a nice run up to the special div too - glad I picked up some shares prior (tax consequences aside, though this makes selling losers sting less) after hours today explains/validates that institutional buying.

Another green day/close over 19 would be plausible... a dip could come, as well, but the ER was strong enough and the regular divvy sufficient to earn 20+ in the upcoming weeks (days?)... this could be a solid long term hold, from my cost basis its ~3% yield (longer term holders are sitting pretty right now!) and a double is far from out of the question if the rest of this year shows solid profitability and the company proves it can expand its customer base... the addressable market is essentially anyone who logs onto their bank account online - the suite of services is actually pretty solid and the price is well within the bounds of the "insurance" being purchased. My "survey" of a few random people indicated they were at least aware of this company - that is significant... also it is tempting for me to take advantage of their services - also significant.

That's what I did with my Dividend bought more shares! So far looking good. Earnings tomorrow will tell a tale!

Dividends are still being disbursed - Ally is set to pay out tomorrow... this could be true for other brokers as well.

Should be green through Friday with reinvestment... how/when the buybacks kick in is going to be significant... as well as earnings reports.

The regular dividend should keep downside minimal - this company has plenty of room to grow, this service is rather essential in our digital world.

Low of the day $16.64, pretty close to a full $12.00 drop. I prefer to buy in after the drop to catch the rebound once the dust settles. NLOK will be back to the upper $20.00's in no time.

This is crazy I just sold some 19 covered calls for 10 dollars for feb. That is just nuts because I also bought more shares with the dividend.

If this goes above 19 in the next two weeks and they take my shares I will have banked 30%!

Of course not. Large special dividends are fairly common, yet players always have to learn for themselves. NLOK may be worth owning but not because of a showy one-time distribution.

There have been mutual funds marketed based on using obscure and questionable dividend capture techniques. They've quickly failed.

My initial cost was 15.80 so I am up 500.00 so far.

Not yet. No loss/no gain until an investor hits the sell button.

I am going to add more today because I see this eventually going back up.

Anybody that bought this all the way up to last Friday at close will get the dividend because of the Due Bill attached to the shares. If anyone sold their shares after 1/23 lost there rights to the dividend VIA the Due bill.

I wouldn't be in too big a rush to sell your shares tomorrow if anything buy some more once it settles.

This company looks very strong it could recover over the next couple of months. looking forward to tomorrow's trading!

Nice My WF IRA has been putting out 25% return. Last year I hit over 30! The last 3 years I take my annual withdrawal then watch it grow back for my next years draw down!

Ya I Know Schwab bought TD I go way back to a firm called National discount brokers that merged with TD in the early 90's.

I switched my WF from managed to self instructed so it is now the same as TD no fees. I use the think or swim platform and can't trade without it.

I am going to switch my WF to Tasty works this year. Tasty works is run my Tom Sawsnof who sold think or swim to TDA.

I am looking forward to tomorrow on NLOK. I recently took a special dividend on TDG that gave out a 32.00 dollar special dividend and it was a 590 dollar stock at the time. It fell to 560 on Xdate than has run back up to 640 just in one month.

I collected the dividend and now up 100 dollars a share since! Sold cash secure puts on it 4 times also. So I am real interested to see what happens to the Puts I bought tomorrow on NLOK!

No it shows in my WF account I didn't buy shares in my TDA account just Put contract Options on the stock.

I just got off the phone with TDA and confirmed "no dividend" shown up yet.

TDA will call me tomorrow to follow up on this problem.

I have it in my Wellsfargo IRA account 200 shares $2400 landed on Friday. In My TDA account I just bought Puts for the anticipated drop! Since it's not a stock shares dividend I might get lucky and collect on those puts. Not sure though. Will buy some calls this week after it drops to catch the ride back up too!

You would notice it because your account balance would show the increase in value. Also look at your transaction detail page it will show the cash
dividend.

How can you find the dividend in a TDAmeritrade acct ?

Hard to believe the share price will open -12.00 dollars a share as think of all those shareholders that bought at 28.00 a share since 23rd of January.

I will probably sell all 500 shrs tomorrow in an effort to make any profit above 27.80 entry minus 12.00 = 15.80 is my break even price.

I have a new line item in my account associated with NLOK. At $0 so far in the new line item.

i checked my tda acct and no dividend yet .

Just that you could of purchased this all the way up to 1/31 and received the dividend because of the Due bill attached to the shares.

At any rate will enjoy the dividend that has already landed into my account and see how the ride back up turns out!

Nope that is why it has a due bill attached to the shares. This is why they say you have to hold your shares until that date because if you sell them before then your due bill will assigned over to the new buyer!

I received my dividend on Friday and if I sold them on Friday as well I would of had my dividend removed and placed into the New buyers shares account.

Monday we can sell but it will be 12 dollars lower so it would just be a wash. I have followed special dividend stocks for years and know exactly how they work.

I did an experiment this time by buying Puts Not sure if the Put strikes will be adjusted or not? I will find out soon!

I defiantly will be buying Calls once I see where the price stabilizes. Long term NLOK looks like strong company

Not according to NLOK's representatives that stated you had to be on record by 4:00pm 01-23-2020 but you had to hold your shares to 4:00pm 01-31-2020 (which technically is 9:30am 02-03-2020)

This means you had to purchase the shares 2 days before 01-23-2020 for the "T+2" rule.

My payments showed up yesterday (Saturday 02-01-2020) so next week (especially Monday) will be interesting. If it does drop $12, I think it's a great time to add because I believe it will recover.

This is a good company and not one that is having trouble like FTR was. They were paying huge dividends and a lot of people got trapped. That stock is now trading below $1 and will soon de-list or do a reverse split to try and prevent de-listing.

A person could have purchased this right up until Friday the 31st and still received the dividend. It has a Due bill attached so the seller would be held responsible to transfer the dividend to the buyer.

Monday Xdate Feb 3 is when you can sell your shares and still keep the dividend but the stock will open 12 dollars lower at the open.

When a stock dividend is in excess of 25% it follows these due bill rules with Xdate after pay date for the market to adjust and avoid a margin call or stops being taken out.

It will be interesting to see how trading goes tomorrow!

I received my dividend on Friday the 31'st Monday this will open 12 dollars lower.

I bought Puts for the ride down and intend to buy calls Monday for the ride back up!

Will be interesting to see how the earnings will effect the SP on the 6th?
