Luminar Technologies Inc. shares rose 10% to $24.45 after the company said it is in a partnership with Airbus UpNext, an Airbus SE subsidiary.

The technology company said the partnership is part of a new Airbus Flightlab ecosystem launched in January, and it spans across the entire scope of Airbus' business lines, using flight testing as the principal means of proving out a variety of future technologies.

The collaboration will see teams of experts from both companies working to enhance sensing, perception, and system-level capabilities to ultimately enable autonomous flight.

The primary goal of the technology platform is to increase aircraft safety and ultimately enable autonomous operation with automatic obstacle detection.
