Shares in newly formed auto maker Stellantis NV gained in their market debut on Monday, after Peugeot SA and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV completed their merger over the weekend.

Stellantis shares, which started trading in Milan and Paris on Monday, were up about 6% at EUR13.32 at 0920 GMT in Milan according to the Borsa Italiana, after opening at EUR12.76.

Shares in Paris opened at EUR12.87 and were about 3.5% higher at EUR13.31 at 0920 GMT, according to Euronext Paris.

Shares begin trading in New York on Tuesday.

The French and Italian-American car makers had been working on their merger for over a year, creating the world's third-largest auto maker by revenue.
