Essilor International SA (EI.FR) said Wednesday that two members of its board of directors were leaving and will not be replaced.

Board member Henrietta Fore announced her resignation after being appointed executive director of Unicef on Jan. 1, Essilor said.

Yi He, a director representing employee shareholders through the Valoptec Association, will also resign from the board following the end of his term as board director of the association, Essilor said.

No new board members will be appointed to succeed them, due to the upcoming merger with Luxottica Group SpA (LUX.MI), Essilor said. However, as Ms. Fore had been nominated to the board of the future EssilorLuxottica, a new female director will be nominated in her place.
