Pernod Ricard SA (RI.FR) has shuffled some management responsibilities within its top ranks to strengthen coordination across the company, it said Thursday.

Pernod Ricard said that the organizational reshuffle will help to improve resource allocation and quick decision making, with all of the changes coming into effect as of July 1.

Among the changes, the French spirits group said it has appointed Christian Porta, the chairman and chief executive of Pernod Ricard EMEA and Latin America to the newly created role of managing director of global business development; Gilles Bogaert, the managing director in charge of finance, IT and operations will become the chairman and chief executive with responsibility for Latin America as well as Europe, the Mideast and Africa; the company's group strategy and M&A director, Helene de Tissot, is set to take over as the group's finance, IT and operations director, with her replacement yet to be announced.

The chairman and chief executive of Pernod's Chivas Brothers brand, Laurent Lacassagne, is set to leave the company and will be succeeded by Jean-Christophe Coutures, currently the chairman and chief executive of Irish Distillers.
