BP PLC (BP.LN) said Thursday that it has signed an agreement with Petroleo Brasileiro S/A (PBR) to explore areas of mutual interest, both inside and outside of Brazil.

BP said the two companies have committed to exploring potential joint commercial agreements in upstream, downstream, trading and across low-carbon initiatives.

The alliance is also expected to include the transfer of technology as well as joint training and research, BP said.
