Renault SA (RNO.FR) said Monday that it will commit to hiring another 1,400 employees through 2019 as part of an amended agreement with three major French trade unions.

The French car maker said it will increase its recruitment commitment in France to 5,000 permanent hires from 3,600 permanent hires between 2017 and 2019.

Renault has hired 2,600 people on permanent contracts in France since January 2017, it said.

Renault also said it agreed to invest an additional 15 million euros ($18.5 million) to train its French employees, on top of the existing EUR220 million budget for training programs in France.
