Air Liquide SA (AI.FR) said Wednesday that third-quarter revenue
rose more than 6% due in part to more favorable currency
fluctuations and stronger energy prices.
The French industrial-gases maker said revenue was 5.27 billion
euros ($6.04 billion), compared with EUR4.94 billion a year
earlier.
Analysts expected sales of EUR5.23 billion, according to a
FactSet-compiled consensus.
"The currency impact softened, though it remains negative,"
Chief Executive Benoit Potier said.
The group had earlier signaled that unfavorable currency swings
would reduce third-quarter sales by around 1%.
Air Liquide reaffirmed its target to deliver net profit growth
in 2018, calculated at constant exchange rates and excluding 2017
exceptionals.
