--A federal court in Brazil has blocked a proposal that would have seen Boeing Co. (BA) take control of Embraer SA's (ERJ) commercial jetliner business, Reuters reported Thursday, citing "court documents seen by Reuters."

--The agreement between the two companies, announced in July, was cast as a joint venture valued at $4.75 billion.

--The court's decision is open to appeal, the report said.
