ENI SpA's (ENI.MI) Versalis plastics subsidiary said Monday that it has signed an agreement with recycling company Montello SpA to develop a new range of polyethylene products made from recycled packaging.

The Italian oil major's subsidiary said the new range of products will contain up to 70% of polyethylene--the most common type of plastic--produced using plastic waste generated by the end-consumer.

The new range of products, aimed at meeting the demands of the packaging and agricultural sectors, will be created in partnership with Montello laboratories and Versalis's research center in the Italian city of Mantua, it said.

Versalis said the agreement with Montello also provides for the development of new processes to create more sustainable products.
