SDL launches Tridion Docs 14 for Intelligent Content
Management
New Collective Spaces feature provides advanced collaborative
authoring environment
SDL (LSE: SDL), a global leader in content creation, translation
and delivery, has today announced the latest version of its
intelligent content management system, SDL Tridion Docs, with new
enhanced collaborative authoring features. SDL Tridion Docs
centralises the creation, translation and distribution of content
to reduce the complexity and costs associated with the timely
delivery at scale of quality technical content.
SDL Tridion Docs 14 introduces a new Collective Spaces feature
to enable enterprise-wide structured collaboration on the drafting
and review of content. This includes functionality such as allowing
multiple reviewers to provide feedback on the same content
simultaneously; assigning access permissions to contributors;
facilitating compliance and audit-trail visibility with reports on
reviewer comments and resolutions; and easy integration with other
solutions and third-party systems. This unified simple-to-use
feature enables any contributor within an organisation, including
subject matter experts or occasional contributors, to easily
author, review and collaborate on content creation.
SDL Tridion Docs customers span high-tech, life sciences,
automotive, industrial manufacturing and financial services. The
creation of content such as financial and legal documents and
technical and product documentation, often involves many
contributors - from authors, to subject matter experts, translators
and reviewers. Sharing content and updates over email and through
files risks introducing errors and can cause logistical challenges.
With SDL Tridion Docs, authors can create, share and finalise
content for publication across any digital or traditional platform
with greater efficiency, and over 80% of SDL customers reported an
ROI on SDL Tridion Docs in 18-24 months or less.
"Creating and editing documents within a structured environment
is normally exclusively reserved for only a few within an
organisation in order to maintain version control of a document. An
annual report, for instance, would need contributions from the
c-suite as well as investor relations and legal teams. Similarly, a
technical document would need input from multiple engineers - who
don't necessarily have the knowledge required to review structured
content," explains Jim Saunders, Chief Product Officer, SDL. "The
collaborative new features introduced through SDL Tridion Docs 14
now make it easy for anyone to review and edit whole documents - or
just their respective section - in an agile way, dramatically
improving the time it takes to create, translate and finalise a
document."
