Amazon.com Inc. (AMZN) said Friday it planned open a fulfillment center in Channahon, Ill.

Amazon said the facility would total more than 1 million square feet and create 500 full-time jobs.

Amazon currently employs more than 11,000 full-time associates throughout Illinois.

Shares rose 1% to $1,739.98 premarket.
