Facebook Inc. (FB) said it has removed some accounts due to
"coordinated inauthentic behavior on Facebook and Instagram."
Facebook said it removed three networks of accounts that
originated in Iran and one that originated in Russia. The accounts
posted material focused on the U.S., North Africa and Latin
America, Facebook said.
In one of the examples, page administrators and account owners
"frequently repurposed Iranian state media stories on topics like
Hezbollah, conflict between Iran and Saudi Arabia, tensions between
Israel and Palestine and Iran and the US, war in Yemen," according
to Facebook.
"We're taking down these Pages, Groups and accounts based on
their behavior, not the content they posted," Facebook said.
