Trading Update and Notice of Results

SDL plc (LSE: SDL), a global leader in content management and language translation software and services, is providing an update on its financial performance for the year ended 31 December 2019 based on unaudited results.

SDL is pleased to announce that it expects 2019 revenue and adjusted operating profit to be significantly ahead of 2018 and in line with market expectations. Net cash at 31 December 2019 was GBP26.4m (31 December 2018: GBP14.4m).

Adolfo Hernandez, CEO of SDL, commented:

"In 2019, we saw many tangible benefits from our transformation and investment activities, including operational benefits from our business automation programme and from the successful acquisition of Donnelley Language Solutions in 2018. We launched our next generation SDL Language Cloud software platform, while further upgrades to our Neural Machine Translation (NMT) products resulted in accelerated NMT revenue growth. We made further strong progress with our largest clients, across a range of sectors, including high tech, financial services and life sciences. We look forward to further progress in 2020."

SDL will release its full year results on 25 March 2020. Adolfo Hernandez, CEO, and Xenia Walters, CFO, will be holding a presentation for analysts at 9.00am GMT, on the day, at Investec, 30 Gresham Street, London, EC2V 7QP.
