--Rolls-Royce and Airbus are lobbying the U.K. government in support of Virgin Atlantic's bid for a GBP500 million bailout package, the FT reports, citing unnamed sources.

--Heathrow Airport has also joined in pressuring the government, according to an unidentified source, as the three fear the negative effects of the airline's collapse on their own businesses and on the country.
