It will definitely be interesting when they begin to ship out of Fab 2, especially if on the timeline they targeted.

I think that shorters are trying to have their way with this. Institutions want the price down so that try can buy more at cheaper prices. Not that either will succeed. My guess is that we are already at a very fair price for this company.

I am not thinking that far ahead. ENVX batteries seem to have the edge in energy density in the smaller form factors. As they have said many times before; that's why they want to start in wearables and phones. Their margins are higher there also.

The article however, does say "affordable" but it does not say "how affordable"
it will be and that is a real question for me.

Yes, not a very active board. IMO, right now ENVX is a lottery ticket. Even if Fab2 works out as hoped, it will be only able to produce 9 M batteries. To be successful, they need to produce hundreds of millions. This would require current battery companies to license ENVX's technology, consumer device makers to fund battery lines and or partner with ENVX. That's a lot of "ifs". ENVX is my smallest investment and I watch it closely. They must continue to hit the milestones they set for themselves. I trust in TJ Rodgers to help them scale and avoid pitfalls but this will not happen overnight IMO.

Wondering if this type of new Toyota engine will become big competition for EV's,
or if it is another good but, failed idea in the end, and ENVX will emerge as the

Seems like Toyota is pretty serious and no nonsense about hydrogen, but
I have no way of knowing if this has changed one way or the other.

The energy density advantage ENVX purports to have on smaller form factors can be seen on ENVX prior slide decks. The recent news about them addressing EVs is on the most recent conference call (can get a transcript on Seeking Alpha). The 80% charge in 5 minutes is also on prior press releases on ENVX website, or you can google that info.

Seems on the last conference call ENVX is going to target the EV sector sooner than later. TM's solid state battery is being pushed out on the timeline. Prior releases said TM would start production in 2027. Now 2027-2028. Remains to be seen who will have the advantage. ENVX has claimed 80% charge in 5 minutes. It seems that the new solid state battery has the advantage in energy density as ENVXs battery has a bigger advantage in the small form factors. However, ENVX will start production in 2024 for the small cells.

Enovix Corporation ("Enovix") (Nasdaq: ENVX), an advanced
silicon battery company, today announced the acquisition of
privately-held Routejade, an established Korean battery
manufacturer for a total consideration of approximately 6.2
million shares of Enovix common stock and $16.5 million in
cash assuming purchase of 100% of Routejade. The acquisition
provides Enovix with vertical integration of electrode
coating and battery pack manufacturing while adding an
established lithium-ion battery business with factories in
Korea, along with complementary products, customers, and
suppliers. The transaction is expected to close in the
fourth quarter of 2023 and be immediately
accretive.

Routejade has been qualified as
a supplier of coated rolls of electrodes for Enovix
batteries with capacity to support the Fab2 scale-up that
begins in 2024. By bringing coating capability in-house,
Enovix intends to realize significant cost savings while
speeding up battery development cycles as modern materials
are quickly incorporated to improve energy density. Securing
the coating supply chain is also intended to ensure the
quality of incoming battery materials which can positively
impact manufacturing yield and
throughput.

Routejade brings over 20 years
of experience as a manufacturer and supplier of lithium-ion
batteries, targeting end markets such as wearables,
hearables, medical, industrial, and the South Korean
military. Routejade's patented encapsulation technology
allows for circular and asymmetric battery form factors,
complementing the ability of Enovix to support multiple
customer requirements.

compelling acquisition with a strong ROI profile for Enovix
given the obvious financial benefits of vertically
integrating coating while providing our R&D team quicker
access to new materials to enhance our product roadmap and
benefit customers," said Dr. Raj Talluri, President and CEO

performance metrics at a significantly faster rate than the

continue to run the Routejade business.

Up until today ENVX has been essentially a pre-revenue company. Fab 1 was created to provide prototype batteries to consumer wearable companies. This has resulted in design wins. Most recently they have been chosen by the DOD Army to power soldier's needs. This is an actual order. Today they announced general availabilty of their battery. This means they are ready to sell. Fab 2 is being built in Malaysia and includes over 100 improvements based on learnings from Fab1. A Fab 2 line will be capable of up to 13xs the throughput of Fab 1.
