Africa-focused coal producer Riversdale Mining Ltd. (RIV.AU) said Thursday Niall Lenahan has stepped down as chief financial officer and company secretary to make way for appointments by new parent Rio Tinto PLC (RIO).

The Sydney-based mining company said Michael Jolley, who has been employed by Rio Tinto since 1984 and has held a variety of commercial and financial roles, has been named chief financial officer. Audrey Ferguson, who has worked for Rio Tinto for more than 10 years, has been appointed secretary, it said.

London-based Rio Tinto's takeover offer for Riversdale is due to close late Friday. As of May 6, Rio Tinto had secured a more than 73% of Riversdale for its cash offer of A$16.50 a share.
