               EUROPEAN BRAND PORTFOLIO REVIEW

Following a review of its European brand portfolio UDV, the
spirits and wine division of Diageo plc, has asked Warburg
Dillon Read to draw up memoranda of sale and contact
potential buyers, to see whether the sale of Asbach,
Cinzano, Metaxa and Vecchia Romagna would create value for
Diageo's shareholders. In doing this, UDV is testing a
market that appears to exist and therefore the sale of any
or all of these brands is not a foregone conclusion.
