i365, Inc., A Seagate Company (NASDAQ:STX), today introduced a new version of the EVault® Plug-n-Protect appliance for small businesses looking for an even simpler, more affordable backup and recovery solution. The EVault Plug-n-Protect Small Business appliance, with a usable storage capacity of three terabytes, offers complete data and system protection to customers who have limited IT resources. The all-in-one backup and recovery solution consists of pre-configured hardware and a complete suite of EVault Software for comprehensive system and data protection.

The EVault Plug-n-Protect appliance provides organisations with an affordable way to protect critical systems and data, and meets their demands for easy-to-use, “bundled” data protection solutions1. EVault Plug-n-Protect offers a single solution to the day-to-day data back-up and recovery requirements and can be managed via an intuitive web-based user control, EVault CentralControl, which allows back-up jobs to be scheduled and managed throughout the entire organisation.

“Small to medium sized organisations need to protect their mission critical data with the same level of reliability and protection as enterprises. However, due to the cost and complexity of those solutions, this is often overlooked or carried out with poorly integrated and un-reliable technology,” comments Keith Gnagey, Managing Director, EMEA at i365, A Seagate Company. “EVault Plug-n-Protect has been a great success for i365, quickly becoming one of our most popular products, and we are pleased to be able to offer a version specifically tailored to those small to medium sized organisations needing a simple, affordable way to get enterprise-level protection, no matter what size company they are.”

The EVault Plug-n-Protect appliance brings enterprise-class backup and recovery technology to small and mid-size businesses in an easy to implement appliance, while also offering across the board standardisation for remote and branch offices within large enterprises. This equates to a significant time and cost savings around installation and vendor sourcing. Customers also benefit from a single point of contact for their software, hardware, and storage support.

“EVault Plug-n-Protect for SMBs is an exciting new version of a proven solution. As a leading partner of i365 we are always interested in providing the right tools to help service our clients, and grow our business in the small/midsized market,” said Alan Brown, senior sales manager at Kelway (UK) Ltd. “This new appliance offers clients a fundamental tool in backup and recovery, and allows us to capitalise on our existing relationship with i365, a Seagate Company."

Using EVault Plug-n-Protect Small Business, customers can protect any combination of platforms and applications, including: Windows, Novell NetWare, Linux, Sun Solaris, HP-UX, IBM AIX, IBM i, VMware, Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Cluster Services, and Oracle.

The EVault Plug-n-Protect appliance is powered by EVault data protection technology, which includes an arsenal of end-to-end performance optimisation features. The EVault Plug-n-Protect appliance is available through i365®, A Seagate Company, or one of our approved partners. For more information, visit www.i365.com.
