MAHWAH, N. J.,
Oct. 14, 2011
/PRNewswire-Asia-FirstCall/ -- Mindray Medical International
Limited (NYSE: MR), a leading developer, manufacturer and marketer
of medical devices worldwide, today announced that it will be
showcasing its newly enhanced hand-held M series ultrasound
platforms at the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA)
conference being held in Chicago
between October 14-18, 2011.
The M7 Ultrasound Platform Enhancements
The M7 platform provides a wealth of advanced imaging features
including excellent temporal resolution and innovative
multiple-tissue harmonic imaging technologies to improve image
quality for technically difficult patients. During the ASA
conference, Mindray will be launching the new needle visualization
technology, iNeedle, which provides physicians with clear and
precise needle detection during procedures. The iNeedle, in
conjunction with iZoom, enables users to view patient anatomy more
accurately from a distance while iTouch allows for optimized image
with a single button. These features help physicians see target
structures more clearly and easily for safe and effective
anesthetic procedures.
Mindray will also introduce new transducers including the linear
array L12-4s and L14-6Ns. The latter are particularly noteworthy
because they provide high frequency imaging for nerve and pain
management as well as other applications.
"The M7 ultrasound platform has been incredibly well received
since the first shipment to North American customers in last June,"
said Michael Thompson, Vice
President of Ultrasound Sales, Mindray North America. "The M7
system elevates hand-carried units (HCU) performance standards to a
new level. Due to the highly upgradable system architecture of both
the M5 and the M7, we are able to support existing as well as new
customers with significant system enhancements and new features
introductions."
The M5 Ultrasound Platform Enhancements
The company will highlight its popular M5 ultrasound platform,
which represents significant value and high performance in a
hand-carried device for general ultrasound imaging services.
Mindray has released enhancements, such as new transducers, image
improvements and other applications, over the past several
months.
"Our focus on turning customer insights into meaningful
innovations continues with the latest enhancements to the M Series
ultrasound platform," said David
Gibson, President of Mindray North America. "We
continue to push the frontier of the performance-to-price ratio in
order to give clinicians more capabilities in a budget-constrained
environment."
