Three ATCO Group companies have been honoured by the province of Alberta for
their unwavering commitment to workplace safety.

ATCO Power, ATCO Pipelines and ATCO Noise Management are recipients of the Best
Safety Performers Award. They were recognized by Alberta's Occupational Health
and Safety Council for their "exceptional" safety records in 2007.

"Safety is fundamental to what we do," said Nancy Southern, President & Chief
Executive Officer, ATCO Group. "Receiving the Best Safety Performers Award
reinforces that safety is not something that we just talk about at ATCO.
Exceptional safety performance is practiced throughout our companies every day."

ATCO has been repeatedly recognized by the Province for its safety practices.
This is the fourth consecutive year for ATCO Power and the fifth year in a row
for ATCO Pipelines. A small fraction of Alberta employers - only about 50 have
achieved such a milestone.

In announcing this year's honourees, Alberta's Minister of Employment and
Immigration, Hector Goudreau said, "These companies are the cream of the crop
when it comes to workplace health and safety. They recognize the priorities of
Albertans, which are to get home safe to enjoy life and family and everything
else our province offers."

The awards program began in 2003. In that first year, 350 of approximately
115,000 registered employers were recognized as Best Safety Performers. This
year, nearly 700 out of 154,000 registered employers received this prestigious
award - less than half a percent.

ATCO Group, an Alberta-based worldwide organization of companies with assets of
approximately $8.5 billion and more than 7,800 employees, is comprised of three
main business divisions: Power Generation; Utilities (natural gas and
electricity transmission and distribution) and Global Enterprises (industrial
manufacturing, technology, logistics and energy services). More information
about ATCO Ltd. can be found on its website www.atco.com.
