Four ATCO Group Companies have been recognized by the Government of Alberta and
the Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Council for their "superior" health
and safety records.

ATCO Pipelines, ATCO Midstream, ATCO Power and ATCO Noise Management (now ATCO
Structures & Logistics) are recipients of the 2008 Best Safety Performer Award.

"I am so proud of our companies' diligence toward workplace safety and their
accomplishment in winning these awards," said Nancy Southern, President & Chief
Executive Officer, ATCO Group. "The safety of our people, our customers and our
contractors is paramount and can never be taken for granted. Safety is the most
important responsibility we have as a corporation."

This is the fifth consecutive year that ATCO Power has been recognized by the
province for its safety practices and the sixth consecutive year for ATCO
Pipelines. Only a small number of Alberta employers have achieved such a
milestone.

"These companies have the right priorities on their work sites," said Hector
Goudreau, Alberta's Minister of Employment and Immigration.

This year, nearly 700 registered employers received the Best Safety Perfomer
Award - twice as many as when the program first began in 2003.

"It is encouraging in today's current economic state to see such a large number
of Alberta employers placing emphasis on integrating safety into their
operations to achieve such a success," said Tim Bennett, Occupational Health and
Safety Council Chair.

With more than 7,700 employees and $9.8 billion in assets, ATCO Group delivers
service excellence and innovative business solutions worldwide with leading
companies engaged in Utilities (pipelines, natural gas and electricity
transmission and distribution), Energy (power generation and midstream
services), Structures & Logistics (manufacturing, logistics and noise abatement)
and Technologies (business systems solutions).
