Recognition Awards DETROIT, June 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ --
American Axle & Manufacturing Holdings, Inc. (AAM), which is
traded as AXL on the NYSE, presented Supplier Recognition Awards to
seven key suppliers at its 11th Annual Supplier Day on June 9,
2004. The event was held at the new AAM World Headquarters in
Detroit, Michigan. The following companies were recognized with
AAM's Supplier Recognition Awards for their outstanding
contributions as key supplier/partners. Alberici Constructors is a
general contractors and construction management company that has
provided services to AAM in both North and South America for
several years. In 2003, this three-time Supplier Recognition Award
winner supervised the construction of AAM's new World Headquarters
and its new facility in Araucaria, Brazil. Anderson-Cook supplies
spline rollers to AAM's United States and Mexico axle facilities.
The company's most recent innovation is a vertical style machine
that is capable of rolling splines, threads, oil grooves, snap ring
grooves, speedometer grooves and high helical parts. EDS received
its second Supplier Recognition Award in three years for providing
Information Technology support services to assist in the launch of
AAM's new World Headquarters facility. EDS migrated computing
equipment and critical applications supporting AAM's Product
Engineering and other critical functions with zero business

AAM Supplier Customer Alliance Leads to Excellence (SCALE) Award
for its active participation in AAM's SCALE program, submitting 75
cost reduction ideas. Of those, seven were implemented -- resulting
significant cost savings. Viking Tool provides AAM's Buffalo Gear
& Axle facility with tooling commodity management for durable
