Mutual Energy appoints Harry McCracken as Non-Executive Director

Belfast Gas Transmission Financing plc wishes to announce a change to the Board of its ultimate parent company, Mutual Energy Limited.

Following an open public competition to recruit a new board member, leading Northern Ireland energy asset owner and operator, Mutual Energy, has appointed Harry McCracken as a Non-Executive Director to its Board from September 2021.

With a career spanning over 50 years in the energy sector in Northern Ireland, Harry brings specialised industry expertise and an in-depth knowledge of local market environment to the Mutual Energy Board. He was previously Managing Director for leading local utility Northern Ireland Electricity (NIE), capping a career encompassing responsibility for corporate planning through to direct responsibility for all of NIE's operations. As well as the regulated business Harry was Managing Director of the Viridian Power and Energy Group which ran the unregulated wind and power generation business and the retail supply business in the Republic of Ireland. Harry has also held a number of industry positions, notably as Chair of Simple Power, a renewable energy company, and Chair of Winder Electrical Holdings, a Leeds based manufacturer of power transformers and small electrical generators. He also enjoyed a short spell as a non-executive of the Northern Ireland Regulatory authority NIAUR.
