    Merrill Lynch Commodities Income Investment Trust plc:

The Company has today posted a circular to shareholders convening a General
Meeting to be held on Monday 21 April 2008 at which a recommendation will be
put to shareholders to adopt the investment objectives and policy as set out 
in the notice of meeting, change the name of the Company and to adopt new 
Articles of Association.

Copies of the above document have been submitted to the UK Listing Authority
and will shortly be available for inspection at the UK Listing Authority's
