                  Diageo holds investor conference in New York

Diageo will today hold an investor conference in New York. The conference will
begin at 8.00 EST Tuesday 26 March 2002 and end at 14.00 EST Wednesday 27 March.
The conference comprises presentations, by members of Diageo's senior management
team led by CEO Paul Walsh, and two workshops. No update on current trading will
be given at the conference.

Paul Walsh, Diageo's CEO, said, 'Diageo has two very clear objectives: to invest
behind our leadership position in premium drinks and to create value for our
shareholders. We have the strategies in place by which we will continue to
deliver profitable top line growth. At this conference we will be illustrating
how we will apply our strategy for growth and leverage our position as the
world's premium drinks business.'
