           Announcement of further Redemption Period

Diageo  plc announces that it intends to declare a further
Redemption Period, in accordance with the terms of  the  B
Shares. It is intended that the further Redemption  Period
will  commence on 1 June 1998 and close at 5.30 pm  on  30
June  1998.   The  redemption  of  B  Shares  pursuant  to
elections received during this period will occur on 2 July
1998,  with cheques for the proceeds despatched by 7  July
1998.
