Weather Keeps Alaska Jets Grounded at Portland SEATTLE, Jan. 8 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Alaska Airlines is canceling all flights into and out of Portland tomorrow, Friday, January 9. The cancellations mark the third straight day the airline has been unable to operate at Portland International Airport. Alaska normally operates 42 departures from Portland daily. Severe weather conditions, including a forecast for continued freezing rain, continue to impede flight operations. The airport was closed to all air traffic today. The airline now hopes to be able to resume service to and from Portland by Saturday.
