                       PURCHASE OF OWN LISTED SECURITIES     

Please note that the Company has acquired $11,445,000 par value of its 7%
Guaranteed Convertible Bonds which are listed on the Stock Exchange. The
original value of the Bonds at listing was $75,000,000 of which Bonds with a par
value of $4,745,000 have previously been converted into shares in the Company's
ultimate parent company, Barloworld Limited, and Bonds of $42,955,000 have
previously been purchased and cancelled, all in terms of the conditions under
which the Bonds were issued.

The Bonds now acquired are being cancelled in terms of the conditions and the
par value of the Bonds outstanding is, therefore, being reduced to $15,855,000.
