mortgage bonds) to be issued by Public Service Company of Colorado, a Colorado corporation. We will pay interest on the 2034 First Mortgage Bonds on May 15 and November 15 of each year, beginning on May 15, 2025. The 2034 First
Mortgage Bonds will mature on May 15, 2034. We will pay interest on the 20 First Mortgage Bonds on and of each year, beginning on , 2025. The 20 First
Mortgage Bonds will mature on , 20 . The first mortgage bonds will be issued only in denominations of $2,000 and integral multiples of $1,000 in excess thereof. We may redeem either series of the first mortgage bonds
at any time, in whole or in part, at the respective redemption prices described in this prospectus supplement.
The 2034 First Mortgage
Bonds offered by this prospectus supplement will form a part of the series of our 5.35% First Mortgage Bonds, Series No. 41 due 2034 (the Existing 2034 First Mortgage Bonds) and have the same terms, other than their date of
issue, first interest accrual date, first interest payment date and initial price to the public, as the $450,000,000 aggregate principal amount of the Existing 2034 First Mortgage Bonds issued by us on April 4, 2024 pursuant to a prospectus
supplement dated April 1, 2024. The 2034 First Mortgage Bonds offered by this prospectus supplement will have the same CUSIP number as the Existing 2034 First Mortgage Bonds and will trade interchangeably with the Existing 2034 First Mortgage
Bonds immediately upon settlement. Upon consummation of this offering, the outstanding aggregate principal amount of our 5.35% First Mortgage Bonds, Series No 41 due 2034, including the 2034 First Mortgage Bonds offered by this prospectus
supplement, will be $ .
The 20 First Mortgage Bonds will constitute a new issue of securities with no
