if thier price is already climbing fast why would someone try to buy them now?

when 90% of the time if someone annouces they are gonna buy another company the stocks almost always go far too high and nearly blow the deal apart

so wouldnt a stock dropping be more of a target for aquisition?

this is just something i noticed the last 6 months im still new if you could explain to me if this is a different case that would be great

THis is a small fish eating some of the big fish food. Little fish eat to much of big fish food he becomes big fish; Better for big fish to eat little fish while he is fat and growing. Big fish get slow and stagnated in the pond need to eat fresh little fish in hopes they gain brain food from there success. )ROSS PEROT= MONEY MAGAZINE 1986

Well glock... one can't argue with the fact that TSO's stock price has gone up over 200% in the last 18 months. But there again, it is in the Oil and Gas Refining business, which has benefited quite a lot in recent times from the "energy crisis". However, its fundamentals aren't all that fantastic, including the fact that it's carrying a lot of DEBT, which is costing it a LOT of MONEY, and with interest rates going up (yes, I know I've said this before) things won't be getting any better.

Personally, I've never been too keen on resource stocks. They are, by their very nature, too dependent on the price of their particular resource, and suffer when the price drops.

....... however, with the current situation in the energy market, as well as the "reported" situation that's there a lack of oil refining capacity in the USA, TSO might very well profit from these circumstances in the immediate future.

But that's just my opinion.
