Samaritan Pharmaceuticals Inc. (AMEX:LIV), a developer of
innovative drugs, and The Samaritan Innovative Science Foundation
(The Samaritan Foundation), a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit supported by
Samaritan, announced today it is developing a CSI BioFuture
(Science Laboratory) BioBus that could be key to keeping American
innovation alive in our children. Why a science bus? The February
13, 2006 edition of Time Magazine asks, Is America Flunking
Science?...the consensus of this article is that science education
in the U.S. is slowing down while other countries are speeding up
in science and technology. About one-third of all jobs in the U.S.
require science or technology competency, but currently only 17% of
our students graduate with such degrees, according to recent
studies by the Council of Competitiveness. By contrast, the world's
average is 27%, and in China, 51% of college degrees awarded, are
in science and technology. BioFuture, a first of its kind, is an
innovative science laboratory, placed on a 40-foot touring vehicle
passenger's bus. The experiential curriculum based on the popular
CSI (Criminal Science Investigation), we think will bring a more
interesting venue to science for the seventh through twelfth
grader. We envision involving students in solving scientific
mysteries, as well, as being mystified with their own DNA. Dianne
Thompson, SVP of the Samaritan Foundation stated, "As soon as we
raise the $1 million dollars necessary to get BioFuture on the
road, we can get it cruising in Las Vegas. Please contact me, if
you can help. The kids and I will be forever grateful." About
